Pricing questions

Do I need an account to download sounds?

No. Searching, previewing and downloading sounds is free and needs no account, on the website, the API and MCP. Accounts are only for generating new sounds.

What does one credit buy?

One generation: describe a sound, choose a length, and get up to 4 variations, each a CC0 WAV of up to 10 seconds that you can download. Keeping a free preview in full quality also takes one credit. If not one variation can be made, the credit comes back.

Is generating really free?

During the beta, yes. Anyone can hear 2 free previews a day without an account, and a free account comes with 5 credits. Free generation shares one daily limit for everyone; when it is reached, it comes back at midnight UTC.

What happens when I run out of credits?

Credits go on sale after the beta; you can ask to hear when they do. Searching and downloading the library stay free.

Are generated sounds CC0 too?

Yes. Sounds you generate are dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0, like the library: use, modify and redistribute them without credit. They stay in your account and are not added to the public library. They are made by AI (Powered by Stability AI), so similar sounds can be made for other people.
