Terms of Service

These terms apply when you create an SFXMint account, generate sounds. SFXMint is maintained by flreey. Searching, previewing and downloading the sound library needs no account, and its sounds are covered by the License. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

Your account

You sign in with GitHub, Google or an email address and password. Keep your sign-in to yourself: anyone who holds it can spend your credits. One person per account; do not open extra accounts to receive the sign-up credits again. You can delete your account in its sign-in settings; the Privacy Policy explains what is removed.

Credits

During the beta, credits are not sold: a new account receives 5 credits for free. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred or resold. If credits go on sale later, these terms will say how buying them works before they do.

One credit pays for one generation: a description made into up to four sounds. It is charged when you start the generation and comes back if not one sound can be made. Searching and downloading the library never costs credits.

Generated sounds

Sounds you generate are made by AI (Powered by Stability AI) and dedicated to the public domain under CC0 1.0, like the library: you may use, change and redistribute them, commercially or not, without credit. They stay private to your account and are not added to the public library. AI can make similar sounds for other people, so a generated sound is not exclusive to you, and we cannot promise it resembles no existing recording. Listen before you use one.

Free previews play at reduced quality and can be made a few times a day without an account. Keeping a preview in full quality needs an account and 1 credit.

Acceptable use

Do not use SFXMint to break the law or anyone's rights, to get around usage limits or payment, to resell access to generation, or to overload the service. Generation must also follow the model providers' rules: the Stability AI Acceptable Use Policy and the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy. We may refuse requests, or suspend accounts that do; credits of an account suspended for abuse are not refunded.

The service

We work to keep SFXMint available but cannot promise it is uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may change or end features. If the features that credits pay for end, we will tell account holders by email beforehand.

SFXMint is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. If something goes wrong, write to us first and we will try to resolve it within 30 days. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring a claim there.
