What counts as one sound
- One description → 4 takes, up to 10 s each, full WAV
- Keep any take; all are CC0
- If nothing comes out, it isn't counted
Questions
Do library sounds cost anything?
No. Search, preview and download are free with no account, on the site and through the API and MCP.
Can I use sounds you make in a commercial app or game?
Yes. Sounds made for you are CC0 1.0 like the library: use, modify and redistribute them without credit. They stay in your account and are not added to the public library. They are made by AI (Powered by Stability AI), so similar sounds can be made for other people.
How much can I make for free?
Without an account, one generation. With a free account, 3 free tries, once, on the website and in AI Studio; making through the API or MCP needs a pass or plan. Each gives up to 4 takes, each a CC0 WAV of up to 10 seconds; one that makes nothing doesn't count.
Pass or plan?
The 24-hour pass ($3.90) is 50 sounds in all within 24 hours: for everything you need today. A plan lasts 30 days with sounds every day: 30-day plan ($9.90): 50 sounds a day; Pro ($39.90): 200 sounds a day. Within the pass's 24 hours you can move to the 30-day plan and pay only the difference.
Do the API and MCP use the same plan?
Yes. A pass or plan is for your account: the website, AI Studio, every kit, the API and MCP. The free tries are the website's only.
What happens when it ends?
Nothing renews and nothing is charged again. Every sound you made stays in your account, to play, download and export. To make more, buy a pass or plan again.
How do upgrades work?
From the 24-hour pass, the 30-day plan costs only the difference and runs 30 days from then. From the 30-day plan, Pro costs the difference and keeps your end date; today's count goes up at once. A plan's sounds come back at midnight UTC and don't roll over; a pass's don't come back.
Can I get a refund?
No. A pass or plan starts as soon as you pay, so purchases are final, whether it is used or not. A sound that cannot be made gives its use back automatically.
