Water Sounds

Drips, splashes, pours, bubbles and streams — clean water foley for any project. 6 sound packs · 210 free CC0 sounds — open a pack to preview every variation and download MP3/WAV.

Water is one of the hardest things to fake with a synth and one of the most-needed foley groups there is: drips for kitchens and caves, splashes for gameplay, pours and bubbles for product and cooking content. These are close-up, clean takes without background noise, ready to sit in your own space.

How to choose a water sound

Small water (drips, fizz) reads best bright and short; big water (splashes, swirls) needs the low-mid body, so avoid stacking it with music in the same range. For repeated gameplay events, rotate 2–3 similar takes instead of firing one file every time — repetition is what breaks the illusion.

Where these sounds work best

  • cooking and product videos
  • game swimming and splash events
  • cave and sewer level foley
  • app sounds with a liquid character

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the MP3 and WAV for foley work?
The WAV is 44.1kHz 16-bit uncompressed — use it when you'll stretch, pitch or layer the sound in an editor. The MP3 (128kbps) is fine for straight playback on the web.
Can I pitch-shift these to make bigger water?
Yes, and it works well: pitching a splash down 3–7 semitones reads as a much larger body of water. CC0 allows any amount of processing and reuse of the result.
